PALO ALTO, CA — GreenSight Technologies has been named one of eight finalists for the 2026 Westly Prize, a prestigious award recognizing young California social innovators addressing urgent social and environmental challenges. The team will compete for $145,000 in unrestricted funding — including three $40,000 awards — at Stanford University's Haas Center for Public Service on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
GreenSight joins a competitive field of student-founded ventures from schools including Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, MIT, USC, and NYU, tackling challenges across water pollution, youth mental health, food waste, college access, vaping cessation, AI education, and support for underrepresented founders.
The company was recognized for its AI-powered platform helping IT recyclers automate workflows and reduce e-waste. GreenSight's Scan-For-Value™ technology enables electronics recycling and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) facilities to identify devices faster, access real-time pricing data, and make smarter routing decisions — ultimately helping more electronics find their way back into productive use rather than ending up in landfills.
“We're proud to represent Cal Poly on this stage,” said Jake Daniels, Co-Founder and CEO of GreenSight Technologies. “Thank you to the Westly Foundation for this recognition. We're looking forward to pitching alongside such an impressive group of founders later this month.”
Founded in 2012, the Westly Prize invests in helping young leaders transform promising ideas into scalable, high-impact initiatives.
