PALO ALTO, CA — GreenSight Technologies took home a $40,000 Westly Prize over the weekend, earning one of three top awards at the 2026 Westly Prize competition held at Stanford University's Haas Center for Public Service. The non-dilutive grant recognizes young California social innovators addressing urgent social and environmental challenges.
The Cal Poly-founded team competed against a field of student ventures from schools including Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, MIT, USC, and NYU. A distinguished panel of five judges—with backgrounds spanning climate, technology, social impact, and entrepreneurship—selected GreenSight for its AI-powered platform helping electronics recyclers reduce e-waste and keep devices in circulation.
“Winning the Westly Prize means a lot to our team, not just because of the funding, but because it's a powerful validation of a problem we have seen up close in an industry that has been overlooked technologically for far too long,” said Mackenzie Kettwig, Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at GreenSight Technologies. “Hearing that message echoed by such knowledgeable judges was incredibly meaningful, especially alongside other founders building solutions to major social and environmental challenges. This support helps GreenSight keep pushing toward a world where the path of every electronic device is transparent, and where anything with remaining value is recovered and given the second life it deserves.”
GreenSight's AI-powered platform enables recyclers and refurbishers to identify devices faster, access real-time pricing data, and make smarter routing decisions—maximizing reuse outcomes across the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry.
Founded in 2012, the Westly Prize has invested in helping young leaders transform promising ideas into scalable, high-impact initiatives.
